It has been over a year since our campaign to save the former Chapel building began. The odds were very much against us in the beginning. Through the generosity of others both locally and from around the world, along with hours of hard work, support and dedication from many people - we can finally say that Godolphin Cross Community Association own the former Chapel.
The building will be known as “The Old Chapel”. It will continue to be used by the community for activities, events and ultimately as a space for everyone. There is so much more to be gained from this building and we have plans to renovate in the many coming months. We have £500k to raise for that, so the work is just beginning!
Thanks so much for the support from everyone far and wide. We appreciate all the donations made to us, without them this success story certainly would not have happened.
Don’t forget to keep watching for the next leg of the journey! Lots of work ahead ...but anything is possible.
Thank you all, from the GCCA team and volunteers 😊
Lastly, we were very short of helpers this year, however, thanks go out to those that helped repair/install the Christmas lights, and to those who weren’t able to climb ladders and help with the ‘rigging’ but who never-the-less gave plenty of moral support to the other members of the team.
If you want to get involved with the lights, or if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the GCCA
